AttuneApp Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 4, 2026
Your spiritual reflections and personal journey are sacred. We are committed to honoring them with the highest care. This Privacy Policy explains how Attune to Grow, Inc (“Attune,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you use the AttuneApp. By accessing or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
Questions, comments, concerns? Please reach out: AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org
Our Commitments to You
As we bring this sacred practice into a digital space, we recognize the profound trust you place in us when sharing your spiritual reflections, challenges, and personal discernment journey. These commitments guide everything we do:
Commitment 1: Your spiritual conversations remain private and sacred
The reflections you share during your attunement exercises are not shared with third parties, except to provide the app's functionality or when you explicitly choose to share them with the Attune team or with people you trust.
Commitment 2: We never sell or share your personal data for commercial purposes
Your spiritual journey and attunement exercises are not commodities to be traded or used for marketing purposes.
Commitment 3: You maintain complete control over your spiritual data
Your spiritual reflections belong to you, and you decide how much to share in your journey of attunement. In the future, we hope to provide many ways for you to share your attunement journey with people you trust, like family, friends or spiritual guides you identify. You can delete your conversations at any time, or access them to store them somewhere else.
Commitment 4: We are transparent about this digital spiritual tool
We are clear about the nature and limitations of the AttuneApp. This app serves as a facilitator for your own spiritual discernment, not as a replacement for human spiritual direction, pastoral care, medical or mental health advice or emergency support.
A Note About Our Digital Journey
Helping others grow in spiritual attunement has been our calling for years. The AttuneApp represents a new chapter in our mission, extending our commitment to helping people cultivate attunement into the digital realm, in an on-demand manner that reaches more of God’s people.
While technology enables us to reach more people in their spiritual formation journey, our core values remain unchanged: honoring the sacred nature of spiritual discernment, protecting the vulnerability of those seeking divine guidance, and fostering the kind of deep, trust-filled relationships that create fertile soil for authentic spiritual growth.
Please reach out anytime with questions, comments, concerns or ideas at AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org.
1. Who This Applies To
This Privacy Policy applies to users of the AttuneApp, which is intended for individuals aged 18 and older in the United States. By using the AttuneApp, you expressly consent to our collection, use and sharing of your personal data as described in this privacy policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the personal data we believe necessary to operate and improve the AttuneApp. This includes:
2.1. Account & Authentication Data
When you create an account, we collect:
Email address (required for account creation and login)
Name (optional, if you choose to provide it in your profile or share it with us through a third-party login provider, such as Google)
Password (unless managed by a third-party provider with whom you already have an account, such as Google; passwords you create with Attune are managed securely by our authentication provider, Clerk)
Authentication identifiers, including your unique Clerk user ID and session tokens
All passwords, session tokens, and authentication credentials are managed exclusively by Clerk, our third-party authentication service provider. We do not have direct access to your password or authentication tokens. We only access your Clerk user ID to link your account to your app data stored in our system. Our authentication provider (Clerk) may collect certain technical information, including device and session information, for security purposes, which is governed by their privacy policy. (See Clerk’s Privacy Policy.) Note that if you utilize a third-party authentication (such as by logging in with your Google account) the third-party’s own privacy policy applies to the information you submit to them, and we are not responsible for their use of your personal data.
2.2. Usage Data
We collect limited usage information to improve the AttuneApp and troubleshoot issues:
Dates and times you use the AttuneApp or engage with our content
Session frequency and duration
Errors or bugs you encounter and associated log files
2.3. Conversational Content
Your interactions with the AttuneApp include both what you share and what the AttuneApp generates:
Your Inputs: Free-text reflections, responses to prompts, and selections you make during attunement exercises
AI-Generated Content: Content generated by the AttuneApp to support your spiritual reflection and attunement practice
Message History: Complete chat transcripts linking your inputs with AttuneApp responses, stored with timestamps
All conversational content is stored securely in our systems and is linked to your account using only your pseudonymous Clerk user ID—not your email or name. This content is stored in a way that separates your identity from your reflections by default.
Because certain exercises include free-form text fields, you may choose to include personal details, such as names or other identifying information, in your responses. While we may take steps to limit the processing of such information, we cannot always filter or prevent its inclusion, and any personal details you enter may be processed as part of your reflection content, including by our AI provider.
2.4. Voice Input
The AttuneApp allows you to use voice input to enter your reflections. Voice input is processed using the speech-recognition capabilities provided by your device's operating system (such as Apple's Speech framework on iOS or Android's system speech-recognition service). Attune does not receive, store, or process any audio recordings. Only the resulting text is returned to the App, where you can review and edit it before saving. Depending on your device, operating system version, and settings, speech recognition may occur on your device or may be processed by your device manufacturer or operating system provider under their own privacy terms. We encourage you to review the privacy settings and policies of your device manufacturer for more information.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data for the following purposes:
3.1. To Provide the Attune App Services
Account access and authentication
Using artificial intelligence to provide and personalize the AttuneApp experience, including generating content to support your spiritual reflection practice
Storing your conversation history so you can return to previous reflections
Troubleshooting technical issues and bug fixes
Maintaining backend technical performance
3.2. To Improve User Experience
We use your data to make the AttuneApp better for you and all users:
Enhancing the quality and relevance of the App's spiritual reflection content and features
Identifying usability concerns and areas for improvement
Understanding user needs at a systems level to guide product development
Analyzing optional feedback you provide about specific exercises or prompts
How We Protect Your Privacy During Improvement Activities:
By default, your conversational content is stored using only your pseudonymous Clerk user ID—not your email or name. This separation ensures that when we review usage patterns and conversation data to improve the App, we cannot identify you unless you explicitly choose to share your identity with us.
We may review anonymized conversation content as part of internal improvement efforts and periodic safety audits. “Anonymized” means we remove information that could reasonably identify you, such as your Clerk ID and profile information. We also take steps to remove identifying information you may have included in your responses, though we cannot guarantee that all such information will be identified and removed. We may retain anonymized data indefinitely when we determine it can no longer reasonably be linked to you and is no longer considered personal data under privacy laws.
If you need technical support, you can contact us at AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org and choose what to send us, such as a description or screenshot of a reflection. Only content you choose to send us is connected to you (see Section 3.3 for details).
3.3. To Provide Support and Ensure Safety
We may use your data to protect you and maintain the integrity of the AttuneApp:
Conducting periodic safety audits to identify concerning patterns (using anonymized data)
Responding to your support requests, using the content you choose to send us
Investigating potential security issues or terms of service violations
Complying with legal obligations
Access Controls and Support Requests:
By default, Attune team members cannot access your conversations on an identifiable basis. Your spiritual reflections remain private unless you choose otherwise except if we must investigate potential security issues, terms of service violations or comply with legal obligations, such as complying with a legal subpoena.
The App does not give our team a way to open your reflections for support. If you contact us for help and include content from your reflections, you consent to our team using that content, along with your email address, only to respond to your request.
3.4. To Collect and Use Your Feedback
You may choose to provide optional feedback about your experience with the AttuneApp. Feedback helps us understand which attunement exercises are most helpful, helps guide improvements to our AI-generated questions and inform our product development roadmap. This feedback is always voluntary. It is stored with your Clerk user ID and may be reviewed by our team to improve the quality of our spiritual formation resources and exercises. We do not associate feedback with your name or email address except as described in Section 3.3, above.
3.5. To Communicate with You
We may use your email address or the AttuneApp itself to communicate with you regarding your use of the App, or exciting information and announcements from Attune. See Section 6 for more information on your rights relative to communications from us.
4. When and How We Share Data
Your spiritual reflections are sacred and private. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data for marketing or commercial purposes. We share your data only in the limited circumstances described below, and you maintain control over your most sensitive information.
4.1. No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your spiritual journey is not a commodity.
4.2. Third-Party Service Providers
To operate the AttuneApp, we work with trusted third-party service providers who help us deliver our services. These providers have limited and controlled access to certain data only as necessary for the specific services they provide. All providers are under contractual obligation to keep your data secure and use it only for specified purposes.
For example, we currently use Anthropic as our AI provider. Our AI provider's artificial intelligence technology helps power the AttuneApp's spiritual reflection features. We share with our AI provider the information necessary to provide the App's AI-powered features, which may include your conversational inputs and related context. When your reflections are sent for AI processing, we do not include your account identifiers, such as your user ID, email address, or name. Our AI provider commits not to use your information to train its models. Our AI provider also commits only to use your information to provide services to Attune and to delete your data after a limited retention period unless otherwise required for legal, safety or similar reasons. We use Clerk to manage all account authentication, including sign-in, sign-up, password management, and session security. We engage other trusted third parties to host the web-facing Attune App and store the conversation data and other Attune App data.
All third-party providers who process personal data on our behalf operate under contractual agreements that require them to:
Use data only for the specific services they provide to AttuneApp
Implement appropriate security measures to protect your data
Not share your data with other third parties without authorization
Delete or return data upon termination of services
We may change service providers from time to time as technology evolves or our needs change. Any new providers will be subject to the same contractual protections and security standards described in this policy. We will update this section when we make material changes to our service providers.
4.3. Sharing with Others
Certain features of the AttuneApp allow you to share aspects of your attunement journey with others. Some features may require sharing certain information to function; for example, if you participate in a Circle, your first name will be visible to other Circle members so that participants can identify one another. If a feature involves sharing your information with others, we will tell you what information will be shared and with whom, either through the App or in this policy or other specific disclosures. If a feature involves sharing your information with others, it will be governed by consent mechanisms that clearly explain what information will be shared and with whom.
4.4. Organizational Transfers
If Attune to Grow is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, dissolution, or transition of service to another provider, your personal data may be transferred as part of such a transaction, as permitted by law. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice in the App before any such transfer and provide information about any choices you may have regarding your data.
5. Data Retention
We store your spiritual reflections and account data only as long as they serve your journey or are needed to operate and improve the AttuneApp. You have control over when your data is deleted, subject to the limited exceptions described below.
Your Control Over Data Retention
You can delete your data at any time through the AttuneApp:
Delete individual conversations: Remove specific reflections while keeping your account and other conversations
Delete your entire account: Remove all your account data and conversations from our active systems
Export your conversations: Download your reflections in a portable format before deleting, if you wish to preserve them elsewhere
When You Delete Your Data
When you delete a conversation or your account:
Your data is immediately removed from our active systems (the database where your conversations are stored)
Your data will not be accessible to you or our team
Your data may temporarily remain in backup systems until those backups are naturally overwritten through our regular backup rotation or when necessary for legal, security, or safety reasons or to prevent fraud
Backed-up data that you have deleted will never be restored to active systems or used in any way
We make this distinction because maintaining secure backups protects all users from data loss due to technical failures, but we want you to understand your deleted data is not immediately purged from every backup copy.
How Long We Keep Different Types of Data
Account and authentication data: Retained until you delete your account. Your email, password, and authentication credentials are managed by our authentication provider and deleted when you close your account.
Identifiable conversation data: Retained until you delete specific conversations or your entire account. Your spiritual reflections are stored with your unique user ID until you choose to remove them.
Anonymized conversation data: After we anonymize conversation data for safety audits and improvement purposes (removing all information that could identify you, including your user ID), we may retain this anonymized data indefinitely. Because this data can no longer be connected to you, it cannot be deleted through your account deletion request.
Optional feedback: Stored with your user ID and deleted when you delete your account or the specific conversation to which the feedback relates.
Why We Retain Data
We retain your identifiable data to:
Preserve your spiritual journey and allow you to reflect on past exercises
Provide continuity in your attunement practice
Enable you to share specific conversations with trusted advisors (future feature)
Respond to your support requests when you’ve chosen to share conversations with us
We retain anonymized data to:
Identify and address potential safety concerns
Improve the quality and relevance of attunement exercises
Understand how users engage with spiritual practices at a systems level
Legal and compliance retention: In rare circumstances, we may need to retain certain data to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, even after you request deletion.
6. Your Rights
You have control over your personal data in the AttuneApp. Depending on your location, you may have legal rights under state data protection laws such as those in Colorado, Virginia, and other states. These laws may give you rights to:
Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate personal data
Delete your personal data
Export your personal data in a portable format
Opt out of certain data processing activities
Appeal decisions about your rights requests
While Attune to Grow may not be subject to all state privacy laws or each of the rights under them due to our size and scope, we provide these rights to all users because we believe it’s the right thing to do regardless of the state in which you live. Your spiritual journey is yours to control.
How to Exercise Your Rights
You don’t need to contact us or wait for a response. Most rights are available immediately through self-service tools in the AttuneApp, which includes:
Access: View all your past conversations and reflections directly in the app at any time.
Export/Data Portability: Download any conversation in a portable format that you can save, share, or store elsewhere.
Deletion:
Delete individual conversations while keeping your account active
Delete your entire account and all associated data
Both options immediately remove your data from our active systems, and over time from any backups. But note, there generally is no ability to restore the data once you delete it, so choose wisely.
Correction: If you want to correct information in a conversation:
You can delete the conversation and create a new one with corrected information
You can export the conversation, edit it externally, and keep your own corrected version
You can simply add a new conversation with clarifying or correcting information
Opt-out: We do not sell or share your data for advertising or commercial purposes, and so there is no need to opt out of that. For information on how we share your data, please see Section 4 of this privacy policy. We may contact you with transaction-related communications using the App or the email address you provided to us as part of your user profile, such as information or inquiries on your account, for user support purposes or for legal matters. There is no right to opt out of these communications. However, if you wish to opt-out of non-mandatory communications, such as news announcements, surveys or other optional messages, you can use the opt-out link in the email, or contact us at AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org.
If You Need Help or Want to Appeal
If you have questions about exercising your rights or encounter technical issues with the self-service tools, email us at AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org. We’re here to help you maintain control over your spiritual data. If you believe we have not adequately addressed your rights request, you may have the right to appeal or file a complaint with your state’s consumer protection or data protection authority. For example, you may contact regulators in the following states, as follows:
- Colorado Attorney General https://complaints.coag.gov/s/contact-us
- New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs https://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/Pages/Consumer-Complaints.aspx
We will respond to all verified requests within the timeframes required by law, and hopefully much sooner. We want to take good care of our users.
7. Data Security
We are deeply committed to protecting your spiritual reflections with multiple layers of security in the AttuneApp.
Our Security Architecture
Separation of Identity and Content: Your authentication data (email, password, account information) is managed by a dedicated authentication service provider separately from your conversational content. This architectural separation means that your spiritual reflections are stored with only a pseudonymous user ID—not your email or name. This design better protects your privacy even if one system were compromised. By default, there is no way to connect your spiritual reflections to your identity unless you explicitly choose to share them with our team.
Limited Retention for AI Processing: When your reflections are sent to our AI provider for processing, we do not include your account identifiers, such as your user ID, email address, or name. Our AI provider commits not to use your information to train its models, to use it only to provide services to Attune, and to delete it after a limited retention period unless otherwise required for legal, safety or similar reasons (see Section 4.2).
Encryption and Secure Transmission: All data is encrypted when transmitted between your device and our systems (encryption in transit) and when stored in our databases (encryption at rest). We enforce secure HTTPS connections for all communications.
Role-Based Access Controls: Access to data within our systems is restricted by role. By default, no team member can access your conversations in an identifiable way. Even when you choose to share conversations with us for support, access is limited. See Section 3 of this privacy policy for more information.
Regular Security Reviews: We conduct regular reviews of our security practices, access controls, and storage systems to ensure your data remains protected.
Third-Party Security: We evaluate the security of our service providers who handle your personal data to verify that they appropriately secure it while in their possession.
Limitations of Security
Despite these efforts, no security measures are perfect, and no method of data transmission or storage is guaranteed to prevent all unauthorized access. If you have concerns about data security, please contact us at AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies sparingly and primarily for essential functions. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, track you across other websites, or share your information with third parties for marketing.
What Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies: Necessary for the AttuneApp to function, including authentication, session management, and security. These cannot be disabled without preventing you from using the App.
Analytics and Performance: We may use cookies to understand usage patterns and improve the AttuneApp. Any analytics we use focus on improving our service to you, not on building advertising profiles or tracking you across the internet.
Technical Monitoring: We collect technical performance data (error rates, system load times) to ensure the App functions properly and identify technical issues.
Do Not Track (DNT) is a privacy preference you can set in some web browsers. We do not sell or share your data for commercial/advertising purposes, and therefore do not believe it is necessary to respond to DNT signals.
What We Do NOT Use
We do not use cookies for:
Personalized advertising or marketing
Cross-site tracking
Sharing your data with advertisers or data brokers
Building profiles for third-party commercial purposes
Your Cookie Choices
You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in. If you block non-essential cookies, the core functionality will still work.
9. Children’s Privacy
The AttuneApp is designed for adults and is intended for users 18 years of age and older. The spiritual reflection exercises and contemplative practices within the App are designed for adult-level cognitive and spiritual development.
During account creation, you must affirm that you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and associated data. Parents or guardians who believe their child has created an account may contact us at AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org, and we will handle each situation with care.
10. International Data Transfers
The AttuneApp is designed for users in the United States. Your personal data is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the AttuneApp from outside the United States, please understand that:
Your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States
U.S. data protection laws may differ from those in your country
By using the AttuneApp, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your data to the United States
We apply the same privacy protections and security measures to all users regardless of location, as described throughout this Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices evolve or as required by law. The effective date at the top of this policy shows when it was last updated.
If we make material changes—such as how we use your spiritual reflections, who we share data with, or your rights—we will notify you through the App or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the AttuneApp after the changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data. If you have questions about changes, contact us at AppUserSupport@attunetogrow.org.
12. Contact Information
We’re here to help with any questions about your privacy or how we handle your spiritual reflections.
